Typology
A typology is a described method of laundering money, financing terrorism or abusing a market, such as structuring, pass-through or wash trading. FATF, FIUs and regulators publish typologies; firms turn them into monitoring rules.
Why it matters for brokers and payment firms
The CBUAE expects rules to come from a typology assessment. A coverage matrix, showing which typology each rule covers and where gaps remain, is how a firm evidences that.
