VARA (Virtual Assets Regulatory Authority)
The Virtual Assets Regulatory Authority regulates virtual asset activities in Dubai, outside the DIFC. It licenses exchanges, brokers and other virtual asset service providers and sets rules that include AML/CFT and travel-rule obligations.
Why it matters for brokers and payment firms
Firms moving between fiat and crypto in Dubai may deal with VARA-licensed counterparties, or need a VARA licence themselves.
