ATL/BTL testing (Above-the-line and below-the-line testing)
Above-the-line testing samples alerts the current threshold produces to see how many are useful; below-the-line testing lowers the threshold in a test environment and reviews what would have been caught. Together they show whether a threshold is set in the right place.
Why it matters for brokers and payment firms
The CBUAE names ATL/BTL testing as a method for firms with larger volumes. A tuning change should come with the test that justifies it and an approval.
