Market abuse

Market abuse is the collective term for market manipulation, insider dealing and the unlawful disclosure of inside information. In the DIFC the prohibitions sit in Articles 54 to 61 of the Markets Law (DFSA Markets Brief No. 24); in the UK, in the Market Abuse Regulation (Article 12).

Why it matters for brokers and payment firms

Market-abuse suspicions are reported to the market regulator as a STOR, separately from money-laundering reports to the FIU. A broker may owe both on the same case.
