Front running

Front running is trading ahead of a known pending order to profit from the price move it will cause. At a broker, it can mean staff or connected clients trading ahead of large client, house or introducer flow they have advance knowledge of.

Why it matters for brokers and payment firms

Surveillance compares the timing of staff and connected accounts with large orders in the same instrument. Access logs to order information are part of the evidence.
