Device fingerprint
A device fingerprint is an identifier derived from the characteristics of a browser, phone or trading terminal, used to recognise the same device across logins and accounts.
Why it matters for brokers and payment firms
A shared device links accounts opened under different names. IP addresses are weaker evidence, because mobile networks, VPNs and offices put many people behind one address.
